Bangor University: School of Law

Law has been taught at Bangor University for many years. The postgraduate programmes reflect the research and the universities priorities as a future-facing university. The range of LLM courses aim to equip students to further their law careers, hone their legal specialism, inspire originality in their research and give them the skills to support what is happening legally, commercially and politically, globally.
The research led teaching at Bangor University Law falls into four broad categories;
- International Business and Sustainability
- Human Rights and International Criminal Law
- Climate Change and Environment
- Criminology and Criminal Justice
The flagship LLM in Law gives students a broad range of optional modules so as to keep their expertise wide-reaching, with legal research methods as core and the chance to hone in on a particular area of research in the dissertation. Other LLM programmes are also offered at the institution such as a LLM International Human Rights and International Criminal Law and LLM Law and Criminology.
Choosing to study postgraduate Law at Bangor means you will have the flexibility to build your own programme. You can choose from a suite of specialised Law modules. The faculty benefits from its very own Law Library on campus which houses specialist collections, law reports, journals and specialist Masters level monographs and texts. Students can also benefit from electronic access to specialist online law databases, including: LexisNexis, Westlaw, Justis, and Hein Online.
There is a replica courtroom on campus, with state-of-the-art specialist audio-visual equipment (for facilitating personal reflective development, as well as international moot court competitions remotely, via video link). The courses are designed to give you a competitive edge in the job market providing masters level legal skills and knowledge.
