Global LLM Bursary Winner 2014 – Where Is She Now?

Lien Lien Wong was a winner of one of our Global and US LLM Study Bursary 2014. She studied an LLM specialising in International Commercial Law at the University of Nottingham.

Before beginning her Master of Laws, Lien Lien was a lawyer in Shearn Delamore & Co., which is one of the oldest and largest law firms in Malaysia. Whilst completing her studies at the University of Nottingham, she travelled to several European countries and participated in various activities relating to her law studies, including the Herbert Smith Freehills Competition Law Moot 2015.

Lien Lien graduated with a Distinction in her LLM in International Commercial Law. And her dissertation – for which she received a distinction mark from the School of Law at Nottingham – relates to a critical analysis of resale price maintenance under the EU Competition Law regime.  

Lien Lien has now returned to her home country and is practising law in the law firm she was working in prior to undertaking the LLM in International Commercial Law. She acts as counsel in commercial disputes both in court and in arbitration. She also handles advisory work in relation to, inter alia, competition law & antitrust, data protection and privacy, contract, tort, consumer protection, communications and multimedia, capital market as well as banking and finance.
