UNH Franklin Pierce ranks highly for Intellectual Property Law programs

UNH Franklin PierceThe University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law has excelled in the 2022 US News & World Report rankings, achieving the fourth spot for best intellectual property programs nationwide. 

The law school has ranked in the top 10 for the last 30 years since the US News & World Report specialty rankings started, with this latest ranking being the highest IP ranking the school has earned in over a decade. UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law also features in the top 100 law schools, ranking 88th overall.

Speaking of this recent achievement, Dean Megan Carpenter explains, “We had an incredibly successful year at the law school, despite the challenges we all faced.” She continues, “In addition to enrolling our largest class in the history of the school, we entered our second year offering our first-of-its-kind Hybrid Juris Doctor program in Intellectual Property, Information, and Technology Law, which allows students to keep their jobs while pursuing their dream of becoming a lawyer. The hybrid program brings our top-flight IP legal education to students in 35 states across the nation. This ranking is another testament to our continuing commitment to and vision for providing the highest-level education to law students. I am so proud of our IP focus at the law school.”

UNH Franklin Pierce has some of the most robust resources in intellectual property, with over half the faculty demonstrating expertise in the area. The law school also boasts the only academic IP library in the Western Hemisphere. UNH Franklin Pierce practices excellence in all areas of law, including social justice. It also offers the country’s first bar-alternative program – the Daniel Webster Scholar Honors Program – which allows highly qualified students to start practicing law as licensed attorneys the day after graduation, without having to take the traditional bar exam.
